History of the Swedish Language

Class Description

Swedish separated from Old Norse during the Viking Era and has undergone a great deal of change between then and the modern era. We will look at how Swedish has changed and why, the impacts of other cultures on the Swedish language and also a few texts from the various eras in order to highlight the changes. Some knowledge of modern Swedish is required.
